about

In 2014 I made a five week trip to the jungles of north-east Peru. I stayed in two lodges, the first one was about two hours down the Amazon river from Iquitos called Otorongo, the other was about two hours (Also on a fast boat) up the Amazon river from Iquitos called Tahuayo, this second lodge had another smaller lodge called the Amazon research center (a few kilometres away), I stayed some nights there too. In both locations almost all the forest was flooded so most recordings were made from a boat. I recorded so many hours I found that to make only one disc album would mean missing out on a lot of great material, so I decided to make four discs, one covering the early morning, one for the mid to later morning, another for the afternoon, then another for the night sounds.
This album covers the night sounds (After about 6pm).
Equipment; a pair of Sennheiser MHK8020 microphones, a Sound Devices MixPre microphone pre-amp and a Marantz PMD661 solid state recorder.
As with all my productions I have made it to fit the CD format.
