The sounds of Curlews and Whimbrels during the breeding season in Patvinsuo National Park Finland.
Recorded over a few mornings during late May and early June 2018. This album was recorded in a boggy area along the wooden boardwalk in-between at least two calling birds. For a long time I dreamt of an area that would have some Curlews singing their sweet but melancholic songs.
In this area of Patvinsuo the dream was exceeded in that Whimbrels were also present. If one includes the more distant Curlews and Whimbrels then the sound of these birds is almost continuous. Some very distant Black Grouse, Gulls and other species add some interesting variety to the soundscape.
As with all my productions I have made it to fit the CD format.
