The Great Saltee is a small island off the south-east coast of Ireland. I made many trips there mainly to record the sounds of the birdlife.
I ended up with so many recordings it was natural to make a second disc. This album was mainly recorded in analogue with an Uher 4200 open reel analogue recorder running at 19cm/s - 2 track.
The microphones were Sennheiser modular types, K3U bodies with ME20 heads mounted in a 20 inch fibreglass parabolic reflector.
